This is quite an outstanding set. Very seldom are sets of this quality seen. Not only is the leather of superb quality, but in the most desirable honey colour. The set is fully lined in burr-walnut, and the lid is nicely designed. With provision for both drinks and tea making facilities, with a nice kettle and thermos flask, this set is ready for every eventuality. It was actually a special commission for the 6th Earl of Ilchester, and carries his family stately home marking to the case- Melbury of Dorchester, plus his family cresting to the outside of the lid. It is also interesting to see the full J.C. Vickery Royal Warrant for supply to the then King and Queen of England impressed in gilt inside the lid.
